Hi! I’m Joyce

I’m an Associate Director of Product Design at Wayfair, an online furniture and home company. I really like solving problems. Often with a marker and a whiteboard. I'll also take chalk and the sidewalk!

I've worn all these hats: User experience design, strategy, and product management. At Wayfair, I lead and support product designers and content designers, design managers and individual contributors. We design across the main e-commerce shopping experience on desktop, mobile, and app. Our focus: Marketing channels, landing experiences, product listing pages (product grids), user-generated content, and design systems. I also lead the diversity, equity, and inclusion group on the broader 170+ design community.

I’ve also built and led successful multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural design teams for many B2C and B2B clients. I’ve designed for the government, non-profits, large companies, and start-ups: GE, Apple Financial Services, TD Bank, Desjardins Insurance, Foster Grant Sunglasses, Samuel Adams Beer, Ken's Salad Dressing, Ontario Lottery & Gaming, Bell Canada, The Globe and Mail newspaper, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Government of Canada, Royal Canadian Mint, and the National Gallery of Canada.

How did I get here? My right brain led me to a Bachelor in nano-engineering. My left brain led me to a Master’s in industrial design. I combine it all in my day-to-day: Technical requirements, analysis, and processes plus user flows, interactions, and colours.

In my free time, I sing with a Renaissance choir and I like to travel (ask me about Ukraine or Bosnia).
